Rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in our latest report, Superkids Day Nursery, Levenshulme is a place of fun, learning and love. The enthusiasm of our team is focused on the next best step for the children in our care, educationally, emotionally, physically and socially. Parents are always amazed by the progress their children make with us, in their confidence and self esteem as well as their learning.

All children learn at different rates and our job is to guide your child through their learning journey, led by managers with over 50 years of combined experience in care and education.

Management Team

Dr. Terri Bourne is the Director and owner of Superkids Levenshulme. After a successful career in teaching and educational management, in the UK and Spain, Terri established Superkids Limited in 2001. Initially focussing on Out of School Care, she soon branched out into 0-5 care provisions, including Preschool provisions, Nurseries and Crèche services. Since Superkids started she has always aimed for a family friendly, yet professional ethos. Alongside her role as company founder/director, she has always believed in Continuing Education, gaining a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and going on to achieve a Doctorate in Business Administration.

Throughout her career in education she has championed staff development and mentoring as a way of achieving excellence. She has always recognised the need to be ambitious for each and every child, an approach which runs through the heart of Superkids.

Anita Bowlay-Williams is our Nursery manager. Having been with Superkids since our opening year, 2014, she has a deep understanding of how the nursery operates, the needs and wishes of our parents, children and colleagues and of the values Superkids promotes.

“Ever since I can remember, I wanted a career working with children. I chose early years because the first 5 years of children’s lives are vital. I wanted to be part of creating a safe, stimulating environment for children in order to ensure that all their developmental needs are met.

Childcare is such a rewarding job, as we have the opportunity to watch children grow, giving them the best possible start to their lives. My goal is to be a good role model and have a positive impact on their lives.

It is important to me that every child is treated as an individual, taking each child’s needs into account. Every child learns differently and it is important as practitioners and managers that our practice reflects this.

I have over 12 years’ experience in childcare, starting my career through the apprenticeship route in 2012. Since qualifying, I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge from experienced individuals and through practice. As a room leader, then Deputy Manager and now Manager, my skills as a leader have developed over time.

My vision for Superkids is to have happy children that look forward to coming to nursery daily. I want our children to be independent, confident, caring individuals, furnished with the skills they need by the time they go to school. I want us to continue to thrive and be the best childcare provider possible, providing a fun, rich and stimulating environment in which our children can learn and grow.

When I’m not at Superkids, my interests are going out for meals, exploring new places, travelling, trying different cultural foods and spending quality time with family and friends.”

Parents as nursery partnersParent_Handover_03 resized

From the very beginning we use the knowledge you have of your child, along with the skills and abilities they have already acquired when they come to us, to map their unique learning programme. Our partnership with you as loving parents is vital in helping us to support your child.

Indoor and outdoor play

Ouitdoor play resizedAt Superkids Day Nursery we view the outside areas as an extra classroom so we are lucky that that we have plenty of interesting and varied spaces outside for the children to investigate. And we don’t let the good old Manchester weather put us off either. The rain gives the children chance to put their wellies and overalls on and get busy in the mud kitchen, hunt for bugs or just splash in the puddles.

We love getting messy inside too, with lots of opportunities for exploring different textures and colours, developing all the senses, from the babies all the way to our oldest children.

Our menus

The children love the meals we serve in the nursery. A variety of dishes, cooked on-site by our Chef are presented to the Lyla-Jo eating resizedchildren, to widen their experience of flavours and textures. All meals are vegetarian, with meat substitute being used in some. Please ask for more information about the food we provide when you visit.
