Management Team
Dr. Terri Bourne is the Director and owner of Superkids Levenshulme. After a successful career in teaching and educational management, in the UK and Spain, Terri established Superkids Limited in 2001. Initially focussing on Out of School Care, she soon branched out into 0-5 care provisions, including Preschool provisions, Nurseries and Crèche services. Since Superkids started she has always aimed for a family friendly, yet professional ethos. Alongside her role as company founder/director, she has always believed in Continuing Education, gaining a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and going on to achieve a Doctorate in Business Administration.
Throughout her career in education she has championed staff development and mentoring as a way of achieving excellence. She has always recognised the need to be ambitious for each and every child, an approach which runs through the heart of Superkids.

Anita Bowlay-Williams is our Nursery manager. Having been with Superkids since our opening year, 2014, she has a deep understanding of how the nursery operates, the needs and wishes of our parents, children and colleagues and of the values Superkids promotes.
“Ever since I can remember, I wanted a career working with children. I chose early years because the first 5 years of children’s lives are vital. I wanted to be part of creating a safe, stimulating environment for children in order to ensure that all their developmental needs are met.
Childcare is such a rewarding job, as we have the opportunity to watch children grow, giving them the best possible start to their lives. My goal is to be a good role model and have a positive impact on their lives.
It is important to me that every child is treated as an individual, taking each child’s needs into account. Every child learns differently and it is important as practitioners and managers that our practice reflects this.
I have over 12 years’ experience in childcare, starting my career through the apprenticeship route in 2012. Since qualifying, I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge from experienced individuals and through practice. As a room leader, then Deputy Manager and now Manager, my skills as a leader have developed over time.
My vision for Superkids is to have happy children that look forward to coming to nursery daily. I want our children to be independent, confident, caring individuals, furnished with the skills they need by the time they go to school. I want us to continue to thrive and be the best childcare provider possible, providing a fun, rich and stimulating environment in which our children can learn and grow.
When I’m not at Superkids, my interests are going out for meals, exploring new places, travelling, trying different cultural foods and spending quality time with family and friends.”
Providing quality care for your child since 2001
Superkids was set up in 2001 by a working mum, Terri Bourne. She needed somewhere she could trust to look after her own children at the beginning and end of the school day so she could continue working as a teacher. It wasn’t easy so she thought about the kind of place she’d be happy to send her children (her first customers!).
The principles she held then still hold true today. A Superkids setting:
- has learning through play at its heart
- is safe and secure
- encourages your child to be sociable, inquisitive and fair-minded
- develops tolerance of others
- offers a wide variety of child-centered activities.
Our team know that when children arrive at our doors their job is to make Superkids an interesting, fun and relaxed place.
We think these principles help us to get things right most of the time. However, we are always willing to listen to the children, you as working mums and dads and our own team members to help us improve. We regularly survey our parents, children and our colleagues to make sure we’re all on the right track.
